Smoke & CO Detector Batteries

posted Oct 21, 2011, 7:12 PM by Unknown user
With the upcoming change from Daylight Savings Time to Standard Time on 11/6/2011, remember to change your smoke AND CO detector batteries and test both detectors.  Vacuum any accumulated dust from the detectors and consider replacing any detectors that are 5-10 years old (check the manufacturer's replacement recommendations).  Write the manufacturers recommended replacement date on any new detectors so you know when it's time to replace them.

This time of year, it's also a good idea to have your furnace inspected by a reputable heating contractor.  Finding problems now can alleviate problems with CO and make sure your furnace is working at it's maximum level of safety & efficiency.
